AGS data can be edited either with the AGS editor or by importing it into MS Excel, editing it and then exporting it again.
An AGS file is a text file and can therefore be edited in any standard text editor, however the AGS editor that is shipped with KeyAGS has 4 main advantages over a normal text editor
Colours are used to identify the different functions of lines of text; group names are Blue, header lines are Green, unit lines are purple and the data is black.
The line numbers are shown clearly alongside the lines of data - vital for locating the error recorded for a particular line number.
The data groups can be minimised by clicking on the triangle next to the group name.
It can be opened from the AGS Checker with the rows where errors occur highlighted.
