The unique design of PocketSI2 is based upon more than 5 years of field trials and market research. The prototype version was used on hundreds of live site investigations, providing valuable feedback in order to address user’s needs and particular problems associated with field logging and challenging site conditions.
Security of Data
The single most important issue is the security of your data, and PocketSI2 has a number of features to ensure you don’t lose the results of your day’s work. The most basic of these is automatic backup to non-volatile media (for example, a removable SD memory card), and this can be set to any required time interval. Better still, PocketSI2 supports GPRS and 3G communications protocols so you can upload your data or email it to your office as you work.
Scope and Compatibility
PocketSI comes complete with the standard data set as defined by AGS Edition 3.1 ,along with optimised, high-speed, data entry procedures for Dynamic Probes, Shell & Auger, and Rotary Core drilling. Data output is in AGS Format, giving total compatibility with all the major SI data management systems.
Graphic Logger
Keep track of what you’re logging with the Graphic Logger. You can see immediately where your last SPT or casing record was entered, how deep the hole is, and what you’ve still got to enter.
Soil Decriptions made easy
Customised Quicklists let you quickly enter standard descriptions from dropdown menus. Quicklists are fully customisable. Even if you switch to ordinary keyboard entry, the auto-complete feature predicts what you are typing and completes it for you from a list of geotechnical and soil description terms. It is very fast and highly intuitive, with the added ability to modify the vocabulary lists yourself.

Need a Professional Solution?
While PocketSI2 runs perfectly well on an ordinary PDA or PDA phone, such devices are not really suitable for harsh conditions, particularly in severe weather or dusty environments. For peace of mind and a really robust logging solution why not invest in a rugged PDA: reliable in wet weather, extremes of temperature, shock resistant, and dustproof.
