We have released a new patch for KeyLAB that has greatly improved the speed of navigation between tests, making the entering of data for a large number of tests much faster and the batch printing of tests and reports significantly faster.

The patch also addresses a concerning issue that has been observed by a customer on grouped input sheets where VBA has been used within the sheets.  We do not recommend, or support, the use of VBA on input or report sheets within KeyLAB.  Code added to the Opening and Closing Events or the Changing and Clicking Events can interrupt KeyLAB in the middle of loading or saving a test and may not return control back to KeyLAB correctly.  This can lead to unpredictable results.   We have addressed the specific client’s problems in this latest patch but still do not recommend the use of VBA within these routines in your sheet.

We recommend that all customers upgrade to this latest patch immediately to take advantage of the faster sheet navigation and to exclude the possibility of the grouped input sheet problem.  The latest build can be downloaded here

This month also saw the release of the KeyLAB Management Reports Beta Feedback Tool.  The tool that was demonstrated live on the 11th March webinar allows laboratory managers to report important KPIs to senior management at the click of a button.  The features are currently in beta and once we have received feedback from the users we plan to replace the current management report options with the features and functions from this new tool.

You can register and watch the KeyLAB Management Reports Beta Feedback Tool webinar immediately after registration.   Users who wish to use this tool should contact Oliver Carnaby on the support@keynetix.com email address.

If you require VBA on your input or report sheets, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible so that we can try to determine if your VBA is likely to cause conflict problems with KeyLAB.  We understand that one of the advantages of using KeyLAB in Excel is the tremendous flexibility it offers but in the case of using VBA on your sheets this flexibility can come at a high price. The more sustainable solution may be for Keynetix to build additional functionality into KeyLAB to address the most common KeyLAB / VBA use cases
