keylab_professional_product-logo_COLOURKeynetix are pleased to announce the release of a new build of KeyLAB that includes a major upgrade to the electronic scheduling capabilities of the system and a host of new features requested by users. This is the first KeyLAB build to support the new Keynetix and KeyLAB livery and to help users make the most of the new features the user guide has been updated and a set of “New Feature” videos have been produced.

For the last 2 years Keynetix have been steadily upgrading the capabilities of KeyLAB to allow clients electronically schedule their tests via AGS 4 data. in 2014 the industry has finally started to see electronic scheduling of geotechnical testing take off with consultants and large projects such as HS2 now regularly creating AGS 4 schedule files that can be imported directly into KeyLAB. Keynetix have now pushed the boundaries further by allowing the import of Excel based schedule files for clients who are not using AGS 4 compatible systems.

At the same time Keynetix have upgraded the schedule export features of the program so that communication between labs and their clients can be more transparent.

The new schedule sheets have a different configuration from previous builds. To help customers make the transition and to help them convert their existing Excel based templates into working schedule files Keynetix has updated the schedule Designer tool which is available for download from the Keynetix Knowledgebase.

Schedule files used in the above demos can be download from the Schedule Designer page on the knowledgebase.

For years we have been fighting a bug with Excel that turns the number lock on randomly when you open or save a test file in KeyLAB. With the help of a number of users we have managed to track the problem down to a specific set of operations and have written code to resolve the Microsoft problem. We have also added a number of user requested features that will make the running and saving of tests easier as detailed in the video below.

KeyLAB is still the best application available to laboratories to produce AGS 3.1 or AGS 4 data. In this build we have improved the importing and exporting of data with a number of new features that will help users who are using bar coded samples, AGS 4 SAMP ID fields or not standard sample types. We have also upgraded support for the TRAN table to allow you to specify the Transmission data for each export and included the tests status in the schedule exports in AGS 4.

At the administrator level of KeyLAB we have added a new feature into the KeyLAB designer that allows the addition of non grouped cells on grouped input tests sheets and have added data collision features that ensure that the data entered into these cells remains the same for each tests on the sheet.

Finally we have made some changes to the Calibration Manager that allows the dates of calibration to be specified more easily and removed a visualisation problem with calibration settings.

The new build is available free of charge to all users with a valid maintenance agreement and can be downloaded from the downloads section of this website.
