Keynetix were delighted to be exhibiting alongside Autodesk at the GeotechnicaME conference in Doha at the start of November and were proud to be asked to open the data management session with a presentation on data value on the last day.

This is the first year that Equipe have organised the conference in the Middle East and we were pleased with the quality of delegates who came to the stand.   The audience seemed to be split between those needing more information on AGS and those wanting to learn more about the software that Autodesk now have, to view 3D Geotechnical models on the iPad and to learn more about the Autodesk Licencing contract that they have signed with Keynetix.

It was very satisfying to see the number of speakers who referred to AGS data within their presentation.  It will certainly be an important requirement for the large number of projects in the region but it does appear to still be in the early stages of adoption.

These stages are often fraught with problems as data producers struggle to create files by hand or do not have software that fully supports the format.  We have seen the problems that these stages cause when they are reached for the first time and welcome the opportunity to help companies in the Middle East to resolve them quickly and enable them to create AGS data at the press of a button.

“We have already had a number of enquiries for our KeyAGS and HoleBASE applications from the conference.” said Dr Roger Chandler, “This is always a positive sign as it shows there are a number of companies in the region who are trying to address their AGS requirements and already understand the importance of geotechnical data management”

There are no announced plans to run the conference again next year in the Middle East however Equipe will be running GeotechnicaUK on the 10th and 11th of July 2013 and we look forward to supporting the show as an exhibitor and a speaker.
