Remember, Remember the Frith of Movember – Reflections on a Moustache

Once the mainstay of many a polyester-shirted, flares clad disco dancer, the moustache has largely fallen out of favour in the UK over recent years.  However, arguably due to the men’s health movement (or perhaps a repercussion of an ongoing advertising campaign by a certain tele-directory service) there is now a single month in the calendar year for which such a practice is not only acceptable but represents the norm.  Movember has, of course, offered such sanctuary.

The Keynetix support team have, as many of you know, been supporting Movember.  Their efforts culminated in sporting some fine facial fungus at this year’s UGM, a proud display for all to admire.  In particular, delegates responded most generously by digging deep to boost sponsorship to respectful levels – many heartfelt thanks to all those who felt able to do so.  For those who were not able to attend here is a pictorial account of our progress:

On reflection, engaging in such an activity has not only raised funds for charity but also provided common ground when networking.  Whether greeted onsite by a client’s “So you’re doing Movember too” or a nod of acknowledgement with a similarly attired stranger in the street one has an awareness of being part of something bigger than one’s own experience.  So whether you have supported Movember with your wallet or your face thank you from the support team.
