Brisbane, 13th October 2011

Keynetix are pleased to announce that their leading geotechnical laboratory management software, KeyLAB 2, now fully supports the Australian Road Transport Authority’s version of the AGS data format (AGS 3.1 RTA).

The announcement was made at the Australian Association of Geotechnical Testing Authorities (AGTA) conference on Construction Material Testing in Brisbane at which the new features were shown publically for the first time by Keynetix’s Managing Director, Dr Roger Chandler.

The first version of KeyLAB was launched in 2004 and has become the market leader for geotechnical laboratory managers in the UK, British Standard based, laboratory market.  Recently Keynetix launched KeyLAB 2 which is fast gaining interest from laboratories outside of the UK.

Dr Chandler spent four weeks conducting market research interviews in Australia during July 2011. The market research clearly identified that laboratories in Australia were finding the production of RTA AGS data difficult and very time consuming.

“We have recently started to expand our software support and sales to countries outside of the UK in 2011” said Dr Chandler “and we are very excited to be making our first, of many, announcements that will help our customers specifically in Australia.”

“The presentation we made at the conference seems to have been received very well.” continued Dr Chandler “We have subsequently had several enquires for more information, requests for connection options to specific geotechnical testing hardware and from potential resellers.”

Full details of the presentation and technical paper “Increasing Laboratory Efficiency and Value of Laboratory Data by Maximizing the use of Common Data Formats” can be found at
