New faster release of HoleBASE SI introduces table linking and advanced calculated fields.

Version 1.28.0.x of HoleBASE SI introduces significant changes to the way data grids can be linked together in HoleBASE SI and more advanced options for calculated fields. These options allow users to view a greater range of results and reports without the use of report views and will significantly increase the usage, and ease of which, the HoleBASE SI Extension for Microsoft Excel can be used for the production of geology dashboards.

This new feature has been a year in the making and has involved rewriting a large portion of the data engine in HoleBASE SI. With these exciting new features users can now link any data grid to the geology grid so that the relevant Geology data can be automatically viewed alongside the original data.

The feature does not only apply to geology tables. Users can link any table that has a top and base depth field to any other table, providing the ultimate in customisation for the way clients view their data in the main HoleBASE SI interface.

Three additional features have been included in this rebuild of the core engine. Firstly a new “Manage Grids” option is available on the model view that allows user to decide which columns and what order they appear in the main HoleBASE SI grids. This feature also allows users to select the linked fields and any parent fields the user wishes to view.

The inclusion of parent fields within grids has also opened up the option for more sophisticated calculated fields to be set up that can reference any field in a parent or linked table.

Finally the rewriting of the main engine has enabled the system to work much faster over a wide area network with project load and grid load times significantly reduced.

This build is available free of charge to all users with a valid Maintenance Agreement and can be downloaded from the Downloads section of Keynetix website.

    End of Life Support Date for Microsoft Products Affecting Keynetix Software

    In the next few months, Microsoft are retiring extended support for both Windows 7 and the SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 r2 versions. For users who initially installed HoleBASE SI before 26th September 2014 (Versions less than 1.22.0.x) and users who installed KeyLAB before the start of 2015 and who haven’t already upgraded should particularly check to ensure that they are not affected.
